Mary Mackenzie studio

Mary Mackenzie

Mary was born and spent her early years in Africa. Drawing has been part of her life since she was a child. She works in several media, presently focusing on ceramic constructions inspired by formal and self directed studies in archaeology and anthropology. Hornby Island, her home for over thirty years, provides roots and stability, allowing for sporadic trips to digs and workshops. Mary has painted and dressed sets for Hornby Island Theatre Society, was involved in The Hornby Festival Society for many years, and was the founder of The First Edition. She presently teaches in formal settings and in her studio.

Mary’s work can be found at The Island Gallery,
Arbutus Arts and the Pot Shoppe.
