International Womens' Day Weekend Celebration
International Women's Day (8 March) is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. This year on Hornby we held a 3 day event in celebration of women - because after all, one day isn't really enough. The weekend kicked off with an Art Show Opening featuring an eclectic and amazing show of talent by Hornby women from private collections here on the island. There was a Women's Social Tea on Sunday afternoon, followed by a film night. Monday evening we all returned for wonderful spoken word performances by many Hornby women with a highlight being Louise Walters amazing turn as Wonder Woman! All proceeds from the weekend was donated in support of Haiti. Thanks to King Anderson for documenting the weekend.
