Silent Meditation Retreat

Deerheart Sanctuary
August 27th to 30th

These retreats are rare opportunities to turn inward in an environment where the space is being held for deep inquiry into the absolute truth of your being. No one can really describe what experience awaits you as you turn inward and open to silence. It must be experienced, a conceptual understanding is not it. There is only one authority and that comes from within.

You will be guided to maintain absolute fidelity with your deepest experience. Simply allow what you are experiencing to be the ultimate truth in that moment without identifying with any story about those experiences.

Visit www.deerheartsanctuary.com for complete retreat information.

Book Launch & Sound Field

Fri, Aug 27, 19:30 to 22:00
New Horizons

Tamara will share stories (www.thecrystalheart.com/books) and songs: poems and pure tones. Her trilogy was written during two years in over 10 countries as she followed her heart. Her intention is to offer a direct experience of presence in the moment.

"This is how I write the books, how I travel to the places I am called to, how the conditions that support me unfold. My journey opened me to the power of playing from the heart; this is what I wish to communicate."

By donation. Books will be available for purchase.

Marc Atkinson Quartet
Debut Performance!

Saturday, August 21, 8pm
Hornby Hall

Note that the performance is on the 21st, not the 22nd as was listed in the community calendar.

The quartet will be performing selections from the four Marc Atkinson Trio CDs but with different instrumentation. It is the debut of a new sound that Marc has been wanting to experiment with and Hornby seems the best place to introduce it. It also will introduce percussion to Marc's compositions with respected percussionist Kelby MacNayr.

Please come early to enjoy the opening of the art show from Diane Smith and Coral Barclay at 7pm. The show time is 8pm. There will be a bar and snacks with all proceeds going to the Medical Clinic as a fundraiser. To get an idea of what the concert will be like, check out the video links at www.marcatkinson.com.
